Nursery Policies


1.Only nursery-aged children will be permitted in the departments at any time.

2. Crackers and water or juice may be served to toddlers and 2/3/4-year olds unless parents have left other instructions.

3. Children may be put in a different room if there are not enough children in one room to justify two sets of workers.

4. Children will not necessarily promote on their birthdays. Promotions will be based on the needs of the children and the space available. However, all 2/3/4-year olds will be transferred at promotion time.


Purpose of Nursery Department

2/3/4 year olds


To help each child feel comfortable and happy, loved and wanted, secure and unhurried.

To grow in his/her ability to meet and solve problems;

To make progress in sharing and taking turns.

To have experiences with others in a variety of situations.

To begin to associate God with feelings of wonder, love, and happiness; and with many happy experiences, he/she will want to talk to God in his/her own way.

To feel that Jesus loves him/her; to feel that Jesus loves others. To think of the Bible as a special book; to become familiar
with and enjoy Bible stories that are meaningful.

To think of church as a special place where the family may go to learn more about God and Jesus; to have happy experiences with friendly people at church.

To think of home as a place of love, to have happy experiences at home where he/she can work and play with others.


    Baby/Toddler

    To begin to associate God, Jesus, the Bible, and church with feelings of wonder, love, and happiness.

    To become familiar with simple child experience pictures and simple Bible pictures.

    To enjoy listening to songs related to this experience.

    To grow in the ability to do things for himself/herself and others.

    To associate Jesus with happiness.

    To think of the Bible as a book that has stories abou Jesus and God.

    To have happy experiences with friends at church.

    To feel free to talk about home experiences.

     

 

A Note for the
Potty Training Child

Please let the nursery workers know if your child is potty training. Please remember to bring a complete change of clothing, including personal training pants.

Please remember to let the nursery workers know the word your child uses for bathroom care.
