Overcomers Outreach, Every Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
"Overcomers Outreach" is a unique lay ministry that was originally born out of an expressed deep need for a support system, especially for individuals and families within evangelical Christian churches who were wrestling with the disease of alcoholism and other addictions and compulsions. Overcomers Outreach (OO) meetings provide Christ-centered, recovery support and fellowship for those whose quality of life has suffered due to problems such as:
Addiction to drugs and alcohol
Addiction to spending & debt
Attention deficit disorder
Everyone is welcome at OO meetings. The support group participants, whatever their need, find the extra care and encouragement necessary to grow beyond the wounds of life’s battles, the difficulties in family relationships, the bondage of addictive habits and behaviors, and the isolation caused by shame. We encourage everyone, (including church members) to come and find, a safe place to share the truth about their lives – their problems, struggles, and recovery needs. We also encourage new believers who still struggle with the consequences of sinful behavior and looking for a path to a changed life. All active 12-step members practicing the 11th step, and seeking spiritual growth through Jesus Christ are encouraged to come.
All OO meetings and its participants are dedicated to the principles of anonymity and confidentiality. We guard the anonymity and confidences of other members zealously.
John 16:33 says …."Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world". (The Life Recovery Bible) In this world, especially in recovery, we encounter "many trials and sorrows," many of them beyond our control. These can be endured with God’s help. We invite you and welcome you to be a part of this ministry with the love of Christ Jesus our Savior.
